Our Yoga sessions throughout November will be looking at the pancha mahabhutas - the five great elements. It’s Vata dosha season in Autumn so we will explore how each element can offer something to balance the qualities of Autumn so we stay in balance and as healthy as we can. Monday and Tuesday Qigong sessions are focusing on the metal element of Autumn and their corresponding organs of the lungs and large intestine.

New daytime Qigong class starting 17th October

Come and join my new seasonal Qigong and relaxation class at St Mary & St Margaret’s community hall from Tuesday 17h October. 12.30pm.

An all abilities accessible practice based around the ancient Chinese wellbeing practices of Qigong. Mindful movement (that can be worked from a chair), meditation, meridian work for healthy organs and energy flow and a beautiful relaxation each session.

October vibes

October is here - the beautiful colours, the cooler air. The heating is now on in all of our halls so that we are cosy and comfortable in our classes. Of course bring some extra layers for extra relaxation comfort! Our “Words to Inspire” theme continues for a few more weeks - offering positivity and tenderness.

Words to Inspire

Our Yoga classes for the next few weeks will be weaved together by words to inspire. Inspiring poetry, quotes and proverbs to bring a sense of calm and tenderness to our practices as we move into Autumn.

Yoga venues are St Mary & St Margarets Hall in Castle Bromwich, Shustoke village hall, Water Orton Primary school and The Link for Monday Qigong. Our monthly Super Saturdays are held at Coleshill community centre and our dedicated Ayurvedic massage and 1:1 venue is in Tamworth at High Vibe Yoga cabin.

We have been looking at the theory of the chakra system of Hatha and Tantra Yoga with beautiful Prana flow practices. This month we bring together the 3 more subtle areas of the throat, brow and crown.

Workshops to keep you thriving

Join me in Autumn for three half day Yoga workshops to keep you inspired as nature starts to slow down.

We will be gathering together at the beautiful St Mary and St Margaret’s community hall in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, in September, October and November 2023.

I have created these three workshops for those who would like the opportunity to explore certain topics a little deeper. All are welcome - from those who have completed foundation courses, to teachers and student teachers, to those of you who would just like to deepen your knowledge a little more in a safe and welcoming, down-to-earth environment. I am able to offer Yoga Alliance CPD points to those who require them.

What's on in July?

Join us in July for a wonderfully energy balanced month. We will be looking at the nadi system - the energy lines that transport our vital energy (Prana) in our weekly Yoga sessions. This will link in to our July workshop for summer health and wellbeing on Sunday 16th. The nadi’s are said to support our physical health and emotional health, balancing the nervous system and liknking into certain organs and areas of the body.

Our Qigong sessions are continuing with the fire pase of Summer - joyful and uplifting movement meditation.

Summer Yoga Workshop with Denise

Join me at the beautiful Shustoke village hall (nr Coleshill) for 2 hours of creative flowing Yoga to ease us through summer. Balancing the natural fire element through movement, breath work, intention, meditation and a focus on the nadi system (energy lines transporting Prana) for a steady flow of energy through summer.

A steady flow practice with time to reflect and calm the systems with the breath.

Well, hello June!

This moth we will be taking a light-hearted look at the Hatha Yoga Pradipika - a medieval text on the practices of Hatha Yoga.

Each week we will dive into one of the 4 chapters and create practices around the practices! Can these ancient teachings still be useful in our modern world? how have they changed/evolved? Let’s explore together. Castle Bromwich, Water Orton, Shustoke and Coleshill for in-person sessions. Thursday chair Yoga and Friday morning flow are online.

Classes in May - all about Spring

Our sessions through May will lead us through this beautiful spring month with energy and brightness. Yoga classes will be looking at the transition from kapha dosha into pitta dosha - and with it the ability to stay grounded and balanced.

Our Qigong classes will also have an essence of moving between the seasons and the Chinese phases of wood and fire.

Yoga classes in Castle Bromwich, Water Orton, Shustoke and Coleshill. Qigong is in Water Orton.

Classes for week Monday 24th - Friday 28th April

This week we are looking at the strength yet flexibility of the bow. In our Yoga sessions we will go back to basics with dhanurasana - the bow posture. It’s a back bending asana which strengthens the back muscles, mobilises the spine and opens the chest and shoulders.

As we are looking at spring practices in our Qigong classes the opening of the bow is a great form to bring the mobility and strength of the wood element.

Join us at our beautiful halls in Castle Bromwich, Water Orton and Shustoke as well as online if you prefer. Seated Yoga is at New Oscott village on Tuesday mornings or nline on Thursdays.
